Donna Guthrie is the author of 23 books for children. She has taught kindergarten
through fifth grade in both public and private schools in Pennsylvania and
Colorado. Her book, The Witch Who Lives Down the Hall (Harcourt Brace)
was chosen as a Literary Guild and Book of the Month Club selection, and
was included in the 1985 School Library Journal Best Books for Children.
Nobiah's Well (Ideals Publishing), a picture book, was also a Book
of the Month Club selection and received the Parents Prize from Parents
Magazine for the very best for the very young. Frankie Murphy's Kiss
List (Simon and Schuster) for ages 8-12, earned enthusiastic reviews
from Kirkus Reviews, Publishers Weekly, andSchool Library Journal.
Her
day-long visit includes story time for kindergarten classes, morning assemblies
for grades 1-8, small writing classes for children and adults, and working
lunches with young authors. During the assembly she focuses on the publishing
process and answers questions about her life and writing. A video or slide
presentation of her books is also available.
